OpenARK

OpenARK

Overview

OpenARK is an open-source wearable augmented reality (AR) system founded at UC Berkeley in 2016. The C++ based software offers innovative core functionalities to power a wide range of off-the-shelf AR components, including see-through glasses, depth cameras, and IMUs.

OpenARK is a open-sourced Augmented Reality SDK that will allow you to rapidly prototype AR applications.

Gold Medal at 2018's China Internet+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship

OpenARK research team, Joe Menke and Allen Yang, presented at 2018’s China Internet+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship competition where the team won a Gold Medal.

Teleporting Holograms

"Pengram uses both augmented and virtual reality to “holographically teleport” an expert to assist on a task involving a physical object in another location. The expert, wearing a virtual reality device, can work in the virtual world on a virtual model of the object that needs fixing, such an engine."

Pengram Wins Microsoft Imagine Cup

"Pengram, the UC Berkeley team made of student from the Berkeley Master of Engineering (MEng) program, Berkeley VR Club, and Center for Augmented Cognition, won first place. Pengram is an AR/VR platform which allows engineers from around the world to be holographically ‘teleported’ into a workspace when needed."
