Become a Donor

In the next decade, one of the greatest disruptive forces to the human workplace and societies will be the emergence of advanced AI and robotics applications. The Berkeley ROAR program aims to meet the new challenges in research, education, and industry by creating competitive, open-source robotics platforms to support student endeavors to explore the frontiers of extreme intelligent use cases, with a focus on safety and low cost.

Supporting ROAR will strengthen UC Berkeley AI racing competitions and programs, including ROAR Academy and ROAR Ambassadors. Funds will be dedicated to such uses as UC Berkeley student support, K-12 outreach activities, programming needs, and hosting competitions, workshops, and hands-on activities (among other uses).

For donors contributing more than $5,000 annually, ROAR offers unique naming privileges to decorate our world-class racing vehicles and to enjoy hospitality privileges at global AI racing events.

Industry Sponsorship

ROAR’s rigorous research and development projects in the AI, autonomy, and robotics markets offer a wealth of sponsorship opportunities to our industry partners as market leaders. All partnerships are governed by UC Berkeley Industry Partnership Agreements that establish formal relationships between ROAR and industrial partners.
 

ROAR offers three tiers of benefits, as highlighted in the table below.

  • Founder sponsorship is exclusive to no more than one sponsor. In addition to all other benefits, our Founder sponsor will have the exclusive right to name the ROAR Racing team. Furthermore, we will offer naming privileges for our research lab spaces dedicated to ROAR program research at UC Berkeley.
  • Board sponsorship is ideal for partners who want to play an active role in shaping the directions of our R&D. This is governed by an external advisory board, including both Founder and Board sponsors. Another unique benefit offered to Founder and Board members is a non-exclusive, license-free commercial license for any software, experiment data, and simulation environments that the program has developed.
  • Partner sponsorship typically includes partners who value co-branding opportunities to allow us to demonstrate their own cutting-edge products in our R&D and also the opportunity to recruit the best of our students.
We invite all industrial partners to participate in AI Racing Tech competition events around the world, enjoying hospitality arrangements offered by ROAR and event organizers.
