The FHL Vive Center is thrilled to announce the Summer 2025 ROAR Academy program – an exciting opportunity for high school students passionate about exploring the realms of Python programming and its applications in reinforcement learning, machine learning, and autonomous driving algorithms. This year, the academy will continue to be an in person program. ROAR Academy is not an overnight program; accepted students are expected to be responsible for their own accommodations and will be released at 3:00 pm each day.
About ROAR Academy:
The ROAR Academy is a rigorous two-week (10 days) in-person summer program, designed exclusively for high school students. In collaboration with the FHL Vive Center, an AR/VR research hub at UC Berkeley, the ROAR Academy aims to fuel your curiosity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Through an interactive exploration of undergraduate engineering majors, participants will delve into topics such as hardware/software design, machine learning, reinforcement, learning, GPT, and large language models. The highlight of the program? Students get to race their autonomous driving agents and compete in a simulation racing competition.
After completing the program, students will have the opportunity to become ROAR Ambassadors, participate in all future ROAR competitions and seminars, and will receive a certificate of completion.
